Old files kept for users of earlier versions and for reproducing old results. None of them is supported. The current version is on the Downloads page. The last releases of the older branches, such as 4.5.2 and 3.3, are also listed there.
These interfaces are obsolete. CompHEP now writes events in the Les Houches Event File format (LHEF, hep-ph/0609017), which shower generators read directly. The interfaces are needed only for event samples in the old CompHEP formats. See also the old support notice.

Earlier versions:
If you use a CompHEP-PYTHIA interface (cpyth), please cite:
This answer applies to the old cpyth interface. With current versions, use LHEF.
cpyth will stop if you try to pass the events through the default interface. PYTHIA should know the particle code of a new particle. So if a particle has the standard code, correct the routine kfpart in cpyth-*.*.*/src/comphep/kfcodes.c If a particle does not have the code, you can add an artificial number. But this will not work in all cases, if PYTHIA does not know the particle.
Test builds and intermediate releases. Use the final version of a branch unless you need to reproduce an old result.
The former download table warned against the test build 6 of 4.5.2 of 03/07/2009 because of a serious bug. Do not use it.
Release notes of the test builds: latest (4.5.0rc2).
Stand-alone num_batch scripts for old versions. Since CompHEP 4.5 the script is part of the package: do not replace it with these versions. See the notes.
